“ Brand: Swan / Type: Food Processor „
After trying-and failing to make a smooth fruit puree for my youngest daughter, I decided that my mini blender was no longer up to the job.
At the time of purchasing, most of the other food processors were out of stock-but desperate, I bought this one, which also came with a one year guarantee.
It has 500w power with a 1.5 litre bowl capacity. It has three speeds, and can whip up sauces and purees in no time at all. When pureeing vegetables and fruits, it takes about 30 seconds to get a really smooth consistency. The only problem I've come across when blending has been when I try and blend carrots and potatoes-the majority blend properly, but a few random pieces refuse to, no matter how long I leave the blender on for. This wasn't such an issue though as I just stopped it and pushed the bits nearer to the blades.
When purchasing this, I was also wanting a chopper to chop onions etc. The swan sp1010 slices, shreds, kneads and chops. It comes with a stainless steel blade and blade tray. The blades on this food processor are really really sharp.
The food processor is easy to put together, and equally easy to dismantle. To use it, you simply need to place the dish on the base, and twist it till it clicks into place. You then place whichever blade/piece you want to use inside the dish and then place the lid on and twist it till it clicks into place. To prevent liquids etc from leaking out, you simply place the pusher into its hole. My husband managed to get the lid stuck, so that we couldn't move it either way. Basically if you don't click the dish into place, then nothing else will click into its 'right' place.
I'm more than happy with the capacity which the bowl holds, as everytime I've used it I've been able to puree everything in one go.
I purchased this product from Littlewoods for £39.00. Even though I've probably paid over the odds for it, I think it is worth it.
The food processor is dishwasher safe and is really durable, as I have dropped it on the floor several times!
In my personal opinion, the Swan sp1010 is best at making soups and mixing up batter for cakes. I did find it struggled when I tried using the removable grater-but I didn't buy it for this reason.
I would buy this product again as it is so rapid and powerful. It looks really nice in white too.
