Tesco HB07 Handblender
Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: not for the dishwaher
I really couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this for sale in Tesco's as at £4. 13 for a blender and it just had to go in my shopping trolley. That was four months ago and I had wanted a hand blender for making the baby food for my grandson as he is now being weaned off baby milk and we have been buying the packet foods for him which he loves, he also has some of the jars of baby food so I thought having a hand blender to blend the same food as us would save money and give him the goodness of fresh vegetables and other foods to taste.
This blender is a white hand held one from the Tesco's value range and comes with the plug fitted so you don't have to fiddle with any electrics, it is however a pretty basic blender with no boost or any other attachments just a one press button at the top of the handle to blend and away you go, it's 150 w so doesn't use up too much electricity and does the job ample enough for me to be happy with it.
It isn't dishwasher safe and it doesn't do ice cubes but I have another blender mixer that does this for me. For making soups it's great as long as you make the vegetables boil for long enough to make them soft, it sometimes struggles with harder boiled vegetables and bits of meat that aren't cut up small.
I find that it blends the vegetables well enough to add spices to for your soups and for making baby food it is quick and easy and will handle the right amounts of food in a jug to make the days baby food and enough to freeze for later use.
It comes with a manual on how to use it and how to clean it, so it's basic but has all the information you may need to use it.
I'm quite impressed with this for the price as it's in everyone's price range and I have had it now for four months and use it everyday, it isn't a fast multi tasking blender like the more expensive one's but for me it is cheap, convenient and great for making baby food.
I'd be happy to recommend it to you.
