My thoughts: This is an excellent movie! It is the fifth film in the Batman franchise, which is based on comic books. It takes us back to the beginning, back where it all began, back to where Bruce Wayne first creates and becomes the Batman. It is also a bit darker and grittier than previous Batman films. After the debacle that...more

The birth of the bat (264 words)

Simply put, Batman Begins is a must have Blu-Ray. The movie was released in 2005 and directed by Christopher Nolan. It gives a very detailed explanation of how and why Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) became Batman. Out of all the Batman releases, including The Dark Knight, I found this the most interesting in terms of plot. It's always great to see how a superhero became who he is. The movie stays very true to the DC comics with Wayne meeting Henri Ducard and the League of Shadows, as well as his fear of bats and the story behind the death of his parents. I think what makes Batman Begins so appealing is how Wayne's character is so developed. He's not ...  Read the complete review

Batman Begins (Blu-ray): At last, a REAL Batman film (388 words)

Rating:

The Film Unfortunately I didn't get around to watching this film until recently, therefore, it's hard to review after having seen The Dark Knight (which completely blew me away). For anyone else in a similar position, Batman Begins definitely has a different feel to it than The Dark Knight. Although, it maintains a lot of the characteristics of the second film too. Both, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight succeed in throwing the Batman genre into a much darker world. All the cheese of the previous films is gone (thank god). However, where as many loved the 'crime film' feel of the Dark Knight, Batman Begins doesn't deliver this so much. Batman Begins ...  Read the complete review

No Dark Knight but amazing film (251 words)

Rating:

I am by no mean a batman fan. I don't really like fantasy/comic book films. I prefer realistic films. However I saw the dark knight and fell in love. Was the best film I have ever seen. I figured I had better watch batman begins as I loved dark knight, and I have to say it was also amazing. The film is basically what the title says, telling the story of how batman became to be. The story consists of flash backs to his childhood, his parent murder and his training to become a ninja. The story focuses on him trying to rid Gotham city of evil etc, your standard super hero plot. I enjoyed the story, not as much as dark knight, but it was still very entertaining, ...  Read the complete review

Batman Begins (Blu-ray): Batman for Beginners! (278 words)

First let me say I only brought this on bul-ray because I am a huge batman fan but its not one of those film you need to see in blu-ray so save your self a few pounds and buy DVD although it does have some great shots of the city and mountains which do look impressive. This is a much darker view of the Batman world and is really great for comic fans as Christopher Nolan (The Director) read a lot of the comics and chose what aspect of each he liked and tried to make it fit into the film. It also tells for the first time ever, the story of Batman's training and how he set up all his operation which is basically the story. It is truer to the comics than the Tim ...  Read the complete review
