I was hoping that the film would be made into a certificate 15, but unfortunately, they left out most of the gore and it was only rated a 12A. In the book, there is supposed to be quite a bit more gore than what's shown in the film.
Jennifer Lawrence is one of my favourite actresses, and she plays Katniss brilliantly. She has recently won an Oscar aswell, so don't go doubting her acting skills!

The Hunger Games film is based on the first book in Suzanne Collins' trilogy- which I recommend reading before or after watching the film, as they are also amazing. I wrote a review of those aswell, so if you haven't read them, take a look at that. The film is very good, but leaves out quite a bit of detail from the book, such as how Katniss comes across the Mockingjay pin, and the Cornucopia is completely different to how it is described in the book.
