10 out of 10 for picture

If you haven't seen Blu-ray in action my I suggest you do. The difference between it and DVD is striking especially if viewed on a 1080P Full HD LCD, LED or plasma TV.

Remember the difference when you saw DVD for the first time compared to VHS. Well blue-ray is the same only better. The detail and colour are the things you will notice most.

This Samsung player is Full HD with that perfect 1080p picture. It will also upgrade DVDs to this quality. This makes DVDs look better but nowhere near as good as Blu-ray.
I have found that the sound on blu-ray is better, you can hear more of the surrounding sounds yet the volume is some what muted. You will notice that if you change from your DVD player after watching a movie, straight to your Blu-ray player you will have to increase the volume significantly. Maybe these are designed with 5.1 surround sound systems in mind.

You can also connect your player to the Internet using an Ethernet cable. This opens up so much for the viewer the disc can lead you to extra and deleted scenes using Blu-ray Live. You can also browses the Internet on specific apps like Facebook, BBC iPlayer, YouTube and so many more.

In order to watch high definition your TV must have a HDMI (high definition multimedia interface) connection you can fine this out by looking in your user manual if your TV is wall mounted if not just look at the back. All HD TVs have these. It cost me £100

You get all of this in a very small DVD player sized unit it measures only
      W 43.3 cm
      D 20.5 cm
      H 3.9 cm
      And weighs 1.7 kg
As with a DVD player you can also play Cd's, CD-Rs and DVD-Rs of all kinds.

The remote control is in the same black as the unit itself. There are 2 USBs on this machine so you can view your photos on a large screen.

This is a great Blu-ray player. A must have for anyone that doesn't already have one on a PS3 and owns a HD TV.
