This Blu-ray player came along with my Samsung TV. At the time I had lost it, and I searched everywhere for it. But after a month or so, somehow my wife managed to find it under my bed :\ .
It is a nice and small Blu-ray player. It doesn't take up to much space. It has a gloss black finish to it. It blend in with the TV. At the back of it you have your usual ports. It has a HDMI port, a LAN connection port, and a Digital audio out port (in have no idea what this is). It also has a USB port that is located at the front. It has a small LCD display which is located to the right of the disc tray. It has three small buttons which are located next to the LCD display, the buttons are eject, skip/forward and the power button. With the button being small and quite close together there will be times where you will end up pressing the wrong button (has happened to me quite a lot).
Along with the Blu-ray player you will get a remote control. It has a wide range of buttons which are used to control the Blu-ray player. If you have a Samsung TV you will be able to synchronise the remote with it, allowing you to control both the TV and the player. I'm not too sure whether it will work with other TV brands, as I have not tested this. All the buttons are average sized and they are all equally spaced out. You have two power button, one for the TV and one for the Blu-ray player.
Installing the Blu-ray player is simple just connect it to the TV and switch it on, no need for setting it up. The Blu-ray player supports both 2D and 3D Discs. If you want to play movies via USB it supports MP4, MOV, MKV and AVI. There is no need to plug in the Ethernet cable into the Blu-ray player as it has built-in WIFI. This helps to makes it easier to get online. You have access to the smart hub and the Samsung app store, in which you can download apps, videos, and games.
At times when browsing through the menu's or the smart hub you will find that it does struggle to keep up, when you select on an icon it will take roughly 2 seconds to actually open it.
You get one main screen, that contains all the apps you have downloaded, it also contains your video hub, on-demand services i.e. BBC iPlayer, Netflix and Love film. You also have search option which allows you to search for the specific content that you want, this search function is universal in which it will search in every application that has been installed. There is a useful feature called Family story in which you can store your photos in the cloud and access it anytime you want, for this you will need to create a Samsung account, the total storage space that you will get is 5GB, which should be enough for thousands of images.
You have access to the web browser in which you can browse the web if needed, it can be slow at times but eventually you will get used to it. When downloading apps it will take minutes (depending on the file size) to install, in this time you will have to wait once the installation has finished in order to continue. You can also stream movies via laptop or computer, you just need to download the all share application and then just stream it using that.
When watching movies in 2D the image quality is great, the level of detail is high, you are able to see everything clearly this also applies to watching 3D movies. In 3D the image looks stunning when they pop out. The video motion is nice and smooth, it doesn't stutter.
This is a great Blu-ray player, the video quality for both 2D and 3D movies is stunning, and clear. It is sluggish at times when going from menu to menu. But you will eventually get used to it, it has a wide variety of features and functions that will suit your needs. I've looked at the prices online, and it is very cheap, would definitely recommend to anyone.
