Advantages: Attractive design, loads of great features, amazing quality.

Disadvantages: Nothing about this machine bothers me.

Purchased this player last year when our Alba DVD player packed up. Having thought that all Blu Rays are pretty much equal. We couldn't believe how slim jim this player was. We do have a Playstation that can deal with the Blue rays BUT it actually doesn't play them as well as a dedicated player does. When I say that I mean in clarity. The PS3 doesn't seem to have the same DOP (depth of view) that a blu ray player does.
As with all Sony products this machine was well packaged and came with an adequate instruction booklet. We slotted the player alongside our Denon amp and connected it up via the HDMI cable, which I believe will give us an optimum performance in terms of picture and sound.

Whilst this model does appear to integrate with Sony's Bravia Internet Video portal is doesn't seem to support any downloadable apps, which I personally think is well behind the times. Or maybe I'm asking far too much from a simple blu ray player and should leave it to the TV to deal with this side of things. But having said that it will allow you to connect to BBC iPlayer and some Catch Up TV.

Very nice to see that it boasts a small power consumption of 6 watts whilst on standby and 7 watts when in action, and when you switch your TV off it surprisingly turns the blue ray off too!
A great comprehensive picture quality in comparison to the Playstation console. Color fidelity is amazing and the warmest I've ever witnessed. It's famous for playing hi-res Super Audio CDs, which is far superior than a lot I've heard over the past 20 years.

CONS: Not Wi-fi integrated

It does support audio files such as MP3's WMA and AAC and WAVs with no problem. I'd certainly recommend anyone whose into watching 3D to purchase a gold HDMI cable for superior quality. It tends to cope better a displaying the picture, we've actually tested this out side by side with our old blue ray machine. The price of this sleek unit has shot down in the last year, but I'd happiliy purchase it again if this one gave up the ghost.
PRICE TAG: £95 from Curry's.

Summary: Slim unit, you'll not even notice it exsits in your lound. Amazing product for a great price.
