Advantages: Uses official names and places, Quite exciting in places, Doesnt become useless once played once

Disadvantages: Not suited to DVD, A lot of older DVD players not up to it

Was given this as a gift for christmas and have completed the first day, was quite exciting although would have been better as a console game.

The box contains 4 player pieces, the dvd and a set of clue and location cards for each "day". There is 3 different "days" on the DVD are each a seperate game with a different storyline and corresponding clue cards. For these days the board itself is useless and only required once they(the days) have been completed. When you start the dvd you choose your day and then up to four different players, this is then followed by a short clip explaining the terrorist events for that day which you must listen to in order to decide which locations to visit.
Once the setup has been completed a list of locations is shown on screen along with the name of the agent(player) whose turn it is. They must choose a location and go there to complete a task which is basically a kind of mini-game. These range from decoding words and pass codes to dodging security cameras and pursuing cars. This is where it gets tricky. For a start our couple of years old dvd player couldnt handle it and was very slow making the game unenjoyable before it eventually crashed. So the next night we started again on a high spec PC and the game was still taking a second to take out an action which made the dodging ones relatively hard. Also the game doesnt come with any detailed instructions on how to complete the mini-games and it took while to figure out that you went the disk reloaded and showed some predetirmened options, i suppose it is only a dvd game.

At the end of each day you are given part of a code so the game doesnt become useless once you have completed the days. These codes can be typed in at the main menu to activate the extended play. This is where the board comes in to play and you must race from the start point to the middle of the board(CTU). I havent yet reached this part and will update the review when i reach this point. But from what i gather from the manual it loads random mini-games from the disk and you must complete them to reach the next level.

Overall not a bad game but not really suited to a DVD game. Although it is authentic using Kiefer Sutherlands voice and the players all use offical CTU agent names.

Summary: Fun Game, when its working and not running slow!!!

Good start here, but from the little you've told us, I'm sure its far more complicated than this, and you could have told us much more. As it is, I don't get much of an idea of what this game is about.

By the way, this seems more of a video game than a board game. I'll see what I can do to get it moved.
