Articulate is a hugely enjoyable party game, involving lots of fast talking and quick thinking. The game is played in teams of at least two and you move around the board landing on different categories. Your team then has to describe words from that category in such a way that your team members guess them as quickly as possible. The more words you can get your team mates to say the further you get to move around the board.

If you follow the rules exactly you are only allowed to pass on one word each round which means you might then have the difficult job of describing a person/place etc. you aren't that familiar with. Some people prefer the easier option of being allowed unlimited passes, but this is a little less creative!

The minimum players for a normal game is four, up to an almost unlimited number if you have huge teams. We have invented a way to play it with two or three, but it does depend on the honesty of everyone involved. Each player plays as an individual and has to get the others to guess from their descriptions. Obviously this only works if the other players don't deliberately not guess to hurt their opponent.

The game can lead to lots of laughter especially when somebody hasn't heard of something or fails to guess an obvious word. It is best when you are playing with people you know well so you are on the same wavelength and can amaze others with the speed you can guess one anothers clues.
