Advantages: Fun game if you like spelling and word games

Disadvantages: could be dull and boring, for those who aren't so inclined or can't spell

I think this is one of those games that you love - if you are someone who is wordy - and hate if you are in the vast population. I love it, but I've always been like a walking dictionary and able to spell and remember obscure words. This is a variation, in a way, on scrabble, except that the letters are printed on dice and you rub the dice holder thingy to mix up the letters. Also, the goal is then to make as many words as you can out of the letters that come up. Great for all of us swotty types, but i can appreciate that there are alot of people out there who just would not find any fun in this.
On a slower tack, and not particularly using this as a game but as a learning tool, and with no time limits - this could be good for those about 7 or 8. They could mix up the letters and then pore over them to make words, and have a dictionary to check out their guesses with. You could maybe give them a couple of free vowels each time, just to make it a bit easier on them. It helps them to think and to learn to spell.

I played with an american mate, who insisted that every word I challenged was "an American spelling". So I got an American dictionary. Played again, he said the same and I pulled out the dictionary to check. Nope, wasn't spelled that way so I told him. His response - "I'm American, this is how I spell it so it's an American spelling ". Got me there I guess.
