I havent played this board game for a long time now but used to quite enjoy playing it as a kid. It can help in learning new words and increasing vocabulary and spelling skills to some extent.

The object of the game is to list within the time limit (3 minutes) as many words as you can from a number of assorted letters in a cube grid. The cube grid consists of 16 letter cubes which are in a tray with a lid on top. The other piece of equipment that comes with this game is a timer device which is used to see when to stop the round of the game. Pieces of paper and pens will be required for each player to write the words found down. One of the things about the game is you can get as many players as you want to play as long as they can see the grid. You can also play on your own if you prefer also.

To start the game the letter cubes in the grid are shaken (making quite a loud noise) and the lid is taken off the grid and the timer is started. Players have to find words in the grid and form these words using adjacent cubes in the grid -"adjacent" cubes are those horizontally, vertically or diagonally next to each other. Obviously the words that are written down have to be in the dictionary. Any disputable words may have to be checked in a dictionary.

You get a certain number of points depending on how long the word is for example three/four letters is 1 point, five letters is two points, six letters is three points etc. The winner is the person who collects the most points. You can choose to play to a specified target number of points e.g 50 or 100.

This is a great little game with a simple idea and goal-just try to find the most words and score the most points in the specified time. It is great for kids and big kids and can help to improve vocabulary. It is easy to play but if you want to get really good is harder. It is not the most exciting or colourful game and can get a bit boring after a while but it is quite good fun regardless.
