Boggle is a nationwide favourite and I have to say, it is problably one of my favorite traditional games.

The official scoring system can be quite complicated to tally. An alternative scoring system I normally use is to gain 2 points for a unique word and 1 point for any others.

Whichever way you play, look for plurals (if you are allowing them). They will help you gain a few vital points. Other common endings to look for are *er, *ed and *ey. You may also have *ing, *ley, *ies though they are a lot less common. Don't spend too long bogged down. Allow 20-30 seconds or so before focusing attentions to another part of the board.

Don't worry about neat handwriting. Speed is of the essence. As long as you know what you have written it doesn't matter. If you have a long list, try to remember a few words you have written so you don't write them again.

Have a dictionary handy for any dodgey words for the end of each round so any controvosy can be quickly stopped.
