Advantages: Easy to play, Easy to score
Disadvantages: Noisy mixing the letters
Boggle is a tremendously simple word game which can be played as a table game but also on the move. You need only a minimum of two players the boggle set and a pen and paper each and off you go. The Parker Boggle set comes with a plastic tray in which there are 16 spaces for the letter dice to go in. To start all you need to do is put the lid on give it a good shake and let the letters fall randomly into he tray. Without looking at the leeters and cheating make sure they are all level, set the egg timer (takes three minutes for the sand to run through) and off you go. The objective is to make as many words as you can with 4 letters or more per word. Each word must use letters which are adjoining and you cannot use the same letters twice. Extra points are awarded for longer words and the winner is the one with most points. Boggle is therefore very easy to play, infinitely variable and easy to score. Families may experience some difficulties with the different abilities of younger players. We got round this by either handicapping the elder, better players or by allowing a certain leeway for the younger ones. In this way you may be able to keep everyone happy. You can play it solo to practice your words. The only drawback to the game is the noise you get shaking the letters. Boggle is good fun and highly recommended.
