Advantages: A lot of fun
Disadvantages: A bit flimsy
When I was a young girl I had an obsession with horses so naturally Buckaroo was in my games collection. The game basically consists of a plastic mule who sits on a platform. The aim of the game is pop lots of plastic items onto his body without causing the rear end of the mule to spring up. Each player takes it in turns.
This game is so much fun and reminds me of a Mule-based Jenga. The anticipation as you try your hardest to choose a place on the mule that might possibly accept your offering is unreal. Your heart is beating so hard that it's in your mouth and the relief that comes over you when you manage to remove your hand from the piece and sit back is like nothing you will ever experience! If you are the unlucky person who upsets the mule then you will 'jump out of your skin' so much that you head will end up hitting the roof whilst everyone else who is playing the game ends up in a pool of laughter on the floor!
The game is great for children because there are no complicated rules that apply to the game. It's really good for there hand/eye coordination as they have to very carefully put either the saddle or bridle onto the animal. I also like the fact that it is a calm game and whilst children are usually wild and making big movements this one encourages them to sit, be calm and quiet and concentrate.
My only critism with this game is the fact its fairly flimsy and it does break quite easily especially if you have two children fighting over who is going to push the mule back down to start the game again.
Over all this is a fun and easy game for any child and I can recommend it very highly although the adrenaline rush when the rear end pops up is nothing like the real thing!
Summary: A great game
