Hungry hippos - game for all but it makes alot of noise (Chad Valley Hungry Hippos)

Advantages: A good and easy game to play from the age of around three

Disadvantages: Keep on loosing the balls and then the game gets pointless

My children used to have this game and they did enjoy playing it. I got it for a stocking present for one of them. They played it over and over again but slowly over time the amount of balls they had to play with gradually got less and less as they kept on disappearing so in the end i decided to dispose of the game due to there only being about a dozen balls left.

This game has no setting up to do after removing it from the box. There are four different coloured hippos around each side of the square tray. You then have a pack of white balls and these are then placed in the centre of the red tray. After the count of three you have to get your hippo to eat as many balls as they can by pressing down the black lever on the bottom of each hippo. This continues until all the balls have been eaten. The person who has the most balls wins. They loved this game but it was one noisey game to have. It not just that but when you get the noise of the children on top of the noise of the hippos then it can get really loud.

It's a great game for children to play from the age of about three but do be careful that no little one's put any balls in their mouth. I used to enjoy playing this game occassionally too. It's a shame it's gone but i don't think i would get another as i know the same would happen again to all the balls.

This game though is available and has been for years, since i was a child. I got mine from Woolworths but it is stocked in other shops and online stores that sell toys and games. I brought it for about £8.00 but this was a few years ago.

Summary: A good game to play for up to four people but it is rather alot of noise
