Advantages: Simple to play

Disadvantages: Small Parts

I had this game when I was a child and had endless fun playing it alone if I had no one else to play it with. I have now invested in this for my own children although I have had to keep it out of reach of the younger ones due to small parts.

It has 4 hippos on a square piece of plactic. Each hippo is a different coulour. There is a button on the back of the hippo that you press and it will make the head of the hippo jump out and lift up then drop down onto the board, this is so that it can catch the little balls on the tray and eat them. Next to each hippo is a groove where the balls will roll to once the hippo has eaten them. This game is played until all the balls are gone out of the tray, then each person will count how many balls their hippo caught and the one with the most is the winner.

It is good fun for children because they get to bash it and also get really excited to see how many they can get. They very rarely tire of playing this game either because they always want to get more balls than they did last time. I have noticed that my son is following in my footsteps too he enjoys playing this game on his own to see if he can get all the balls and how quickly he can do this.

The age group on this is 4+ which is understandable due to the little plastic balls are a hazzard. I bougt mine from argos for £7.99 so it is not an expensive game to keep your child amuzed either. The balls can get lost so supervision of the 4 to 5 year olds is essencial but above that age they tend to take more care and pack it away after they have finished.

I found that this was a simple game to play and it was simple to explain to the children on how to play it too.

I would advise this toy to parents with more than one child or have alot of children to visit it will keep them happy for quite a long time.

Summary: Great game to keep children amused
