Advantages: easy to play

Disadvantages: lose balls too easily

Here's a blast from the past, a game that we used to play all the time and why not: it's great. For two to four players, each of you has your hand on the back of a hippo. Pressing your button will open and close its mouth. All hippo's mouths are opening onto a plastic surface, like a playing surface. The release of small balls is then followed by you all whacking away on your button to 'eat' as many as you can. When they're all gone, you count up what you've got and the player with the most wins!

The best thing about this game is that it requires no skill, making it accessible to all ages. An adult can play against a little one and perhaps vary their effort so it becomes a bit more fair, but likewise a hardened group of 20 year olds can all bash away together (that sounds wrong!)

The worst thing is the inevitable loss of the balls, which comes with all kids games with small parts. Also, it soon gets boring, and really only has purpose as a novelty, quick game.

All in all, a nice enough game but not one worth splashing out on. Why not pick something up with more variety, like Cranium.

Summary: do it
