Chad Valley Hungry Hippos
Advantages: family fun
Disadvantages: parts may get lost if not packed away after playing
I bought this game last christmas for my grandaughter who is six years old and enjoys playing family games now as she loves to be sat with you to take part in games and this is one of ther favorites .
It is a simple game without much skill involved to play but is ideal for entertaining children from ages five upwards.
You can buy it from Argos and online at Amazon for around £12 upwards which is a reasonable price to pay for a game that keeps kids happy for a while. It is something they can play with their friends but if younger children are playing you may have to supervise them as there are small marbles included in the game.
The game is easy to set up and you get four hippo's of different bright colours that fit in the arena where the marbles sit, each hippo has a level to press that makes the hippo move in a forward and backwards motion which grabs the marbles out of the arena and pops them into the tray in front of the player, the one with the most marbles at the end of the game wins.
Its just a case of fastest hippo grabs the most marbles wins and is such fun for the kids to play my grandaughter ends up in fits of laughter playing this as she loves the game. It is quite durable to as it has taken some stick from her and her friends and we have owned it now for over six months and it's still going strong.
Value for money wise it's been great as she hasn't got bored of it and it is hard wearing, you have to have a flat surface to play so on the table is good enough for it or you can play it one the flloor , packing it away properly in the box after use helps to keep the game intact as the marbles could be lost if it isn't put away after playing with it.
I like the game as it entertains the kids even if it is a bit noisy it is nice to have the house full of laughter.
Happy to recommend.
Summary: good value
