Advantages: good to practice reaction times
Disadvantages: A bit difficult for this nanna
Hopping honey pots pooh, to be honest I am not very impressed, or maybe my reactions are not fast enough. This toy is really designed for children over three years old. My grandchildren 3 and 6 years have this, it was a Christmas present. You can buy this toy from toys are us for £14.99.
This plastic toy is quite an attractive purple colour. There are 9 circular purple tree trunks fixed together in a cross shape. The centre one is the largest and a plastic pooh bear sits on this he has a jar of honey he is eating from. . Around poohs tree trunk are fixed 4 other slightly smaller tree trunks on these rest 4 honey pots. Fixed to these tree trunks there is another row of 4 slightly smaller honey pots these have a yellow button each with a character sticker on them . One is Tiger, one Piglet, one Roo, and one Eyeore. Pooh in the centre is sitting on a clear plastic strip that is about 3 inches long. Attached to the other end of this strip is a bee. There are 3 AA batteries which make this strip with the bee on whiz around. This game is suitable for 2, 3 or 4 players. Each child chooses a character if you have only 2 or 3 children playing then remove the honey pot in that position from play .
The aim of this game is not to let the bee get your honey and knock it off its tree stump. . Pres a finger on the character this will depress a button and the honey pot will jump up from its base jumping over the bee as it passes by.
This is not really as easy as it sounds as you have to judge when to press your character to make it jump over the bee. . The plastic bee buzzes round fairly fast the pots do not always jump high enough.
Personally I think that children will soon get bored with this game as they are not very successful at jumping over the honey pots. I think 3 is a little too young their coordination and timing not yet good enough for a group of 6 year olds I can see this would probably be ok.
A child needs to get their timing right for this toy I guess after playing it for hours this could be perfected. A child will need finger control to press the character on the button.
So would I recommend this toy? No not really
Summary: A game where a bee whizzes round and you have to make the pots jump
