Advantages: Fun strategy game

Disadvantages: Needs aminimum of three to play

This is a game that has really stood the test of time - and is still as popular as ever especially as there are some character versions, such as the Simpsons Cluedo.

The only downside of this game is that you need al least three people to play. The characters in the game are also as well known as the game itself - is there anyone who isn't aware of Prof Plum, Rev Green, Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, Mrs White and Mrs Peacock.

Idea of the game
=============
The game is based on the murder of Doctor black and using your powers of deduction you have to work out which of the characters killed the doctor, where they killed them and with what implement they killed him with.

How it works
==========
There are cards that represent each of the characters, the rooms, and the murder weapons. To start the game you take on card from each of the sections and unseen put it in the envelope provided. The remaining cards are then shuffled and dealt out to each of the players.

The dice is thrown and the charcters move around the board - when you visit a room can you can make a 'suggestion' and ask one of the other players who you think did it, where and with what weapon. If the player asked has a card representing one of your guesses you know they didn't do it, it wasn't in that room, or it wasn't that weapon.The game progreses like this with each player making guesses and working out who didn't do it, where it wasn't done, and which weapon didn't do it.

How you win
===========
Eventually you will only have one item in each section left. Then you can make your final suggestion, and look in the envelope - if right then you have won - if wrong then you are out for the rest of the game and can only respond to other players.

Ideally this game should be played by 4 people over the age of 10 as you do need a certain level of reasoning. It can last from 20mins to 1 hour depending on how good you are.

A great board game that will last for many many more years
