Advantages: Great game to help kids learn, never gets old or boring

Disadvantages: If you hate it obviously...

Ah! Connect 4. Takes me back to happier days of playing this game when I was a child. It's an extremely popular game, even now and is not only enjoyable but also stimulating for children of a young age.

The game is fairly simple to play with no complex rules or such. You will basically have a seven-column, six-row vertically-suspended grid and two sets of coloured discs. In most recent versions of the game I have seen available like Hasbro or MB the grid is blue and made out of plastic and likewise the discs are also plastic and are red and yellow.

The game is initally designed for only two players, both of whom take turns dropping their coloured discs into the slots of the grid in an attempt to make '4 in a row'. It's a fairly simple game and can sometimes take a long time or be over very quickly depending on the skill and stealth of the opposition. To win you must line up four of your coloured discs before your opponent either vertically or diagonally.

I think the game is a great way to ease infants into playing games and to build their counting skills as it requires them also to be able to identify colours and patterns. Or if you're me and my friends and get very drunk - you can play Strip Connect 4. [OK not really required for this review but the point I'm trying to make is that this is a game that never gets old or tiresome and there's some enjoyment to be got out of it for all ages. The game isn't really that expensive either, going for about a fiver in places like Woolworths and slightly more in Argos or on the Amazon website so enjoy!

Summary: A tireless classic that will entertain all for years to come

I love this game, it's one of a very few that I can actually win against my granddaughters!
