Advantages: A very good simple game

Disadvantages: Not a lot

Connect four - A childs game surely? yes, and would I recommend it for all the family? and adults? Yes again. The reason being, If you do not know the rules, they are simplicity itself, you have a frame, made from plactic, into which each of the two players in turn drops coloured discs, the object being to get a row of four of your coloured discs in a row, vertically. horizontally, or diagonally.

I must say that this game is easy, so easy that you do not really need instructions, you could a couple of strangers who have never seen the board game before, to play with it, and have a good time. Age is immaterial, as is gender.

it's a small game so it easily stows away, so you need not throw it away to create more room, there is actually a garden version of this, which is about four reet in height, but we are talking about the specific idea of the game.

It is games like this that actually bring families together, rather than causing rows. This is I think this is the main reason that this game is so popular now, and in my opinionm still will be, in some form or another, in a hundred years time.

I forget the price, and I suppose there are different qualities and so many outlets now the prices vary, but eithere way, this game is so affordable. I suppose if you see one at a car boot sale, or in your local charity shop, the price would be pennies rather than pounds.

There is very little skll involved, tactics are very basic, this is very much a level playing field type of game, where the kids are in a position where they can take on alkl comers, with the same chance of winning, and still have the learning curve of being beaten too, all in good fun.

Any game that can bring a Family together will always get my vote, and I can;t think of a games console or a Computer that can do this like a good old fashioned tactile game like this.

Summary: Very good for teaching gaming skills to kids
