Advantages: Agood good to teach hand and eye coordination to a child.

Disadvantages: Can be noisy when counters go down, and easyily breaks .

I remember my old Connect Four game, and it's nice to see that it remains the same in both style and popularity.
Now, as an adult, I have the computer version of Connect Four, but somehow the magic is detracted when you play it on the computer.
First of all, the lack of a tangible opponent is something of a letdown. With the board game, you can interact with your opponent,
share in the fun, and if you are the victor, it takes on a greater air of importance.

Maybe because I'm older, the strategy is less intensive, and the game presents little challenge.
To a young person, however, Connect Four is a wonderful source of enjoyment. It fosters the spirit of healthy competition,
involves hand-eye coordination as well as concentration, and can even assist in strengthening counting skills.

The object of the game is to force your opponent into making a row of four of their color tokens (red and black are the opposing colors used to be yellow and red..
The row can be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal. The game is rather fast-paced.
Players take turns dropping their tokens vertically into seven slots, one token at a time.
You win when the other person has four in a row of their color.

A couple of tips about the game: First, you may want to play on a soft surface because when you release the lever to drop all of the tokens out,
it makes a pretty loud sound. A padded surface will absorb most of the sound. Also, make sure you take care of your set.
The side stands are somewhat flimsy and can break if abused. It is easy to lose the tokens, so keep your game somewhere out of the way,
like in the closet, until you want to play it.

Connect Four has provided countless hours of fun to millions of players, and although it isn't quite the same as it used to be for me,
doesn't mean that people of all ages can't enjoy it. My son will not miss out on this game when he is old enough. r>My daughter has this version in her room but my middle son is only 4 so he needs to get a bit bigger.

It is made by MB again, and costs £9.99 from any toy shop. You can also get the travel one which is the same but a little version. That costs £3.99.
