Advantages: No minimum or maximum amount of players required., Great fun

Disadvantages: none

I'm sure that everyone, at some point, has walked into a pub to see people playing darts.
Well the reason is because it's great fun. You can be as competitive or as friendly as you like. There's no minimum amount of players, and certainly no maximum. Anyone, who's played 501 darts in his or her local league, will vouch for this. You can have 16 people playing at any one time.

For those of you that have never been able to quite understand the rules, here's a quick lesson. In this case we will use 2 players. The name of the game is the first player to get from (usually) 301 down to 0 is the winner. To start the game, you (usually) need to throw a double. Any double of your choice. Doubles can be found on the outer circle of the board.Take turns alternately.
As a guide, boards have the doubles on the outer ring. Next is the single numbers. The third inner ring of the board is the trebles. Following this is single numbers again. The last 2 circles consist of double 25 and the bullseye (50 points) in that order.

Once you have thrown a double (you must keep trying until you succeed) you deduct your score from 301. You are then free to score what you like. Obviously the higher the score the better. You do not need to hit a double now. Once you reach 100 or below, you will need to start thinking about what you are aiming for.
To win the game, you must finish on a double. If for example you have 100 left, you could try to aim for the bullseye as these counts as double 50. A good tip to remember is try to get your score down to 32. Then if you miss the double 16, and hit a single 16, you can then try for double 8. The reason for this is that way you wont waste many darts, by landing on an odd number, then having to waste at least one dart to get a single, before having a double out.

If all this is still confusing then hey what the heck, play no double in or out with a pal, until you build up confidence. The main thing
to remember is that this is just a game, and as such you should have fun.

I love darts, play in my local league and we generally do quite well. Lost 9-6 last night though :(

Good op on a great game. Boon.

I have a dartboard in my dining room and love playing, but find it easier to go from 1 to 20 and then bullseye. Saves on the subtraction and all that!
