When ever people think of darts they think of fat guys with bear bellys playing in a pub. But thats not always the case as dart players dont all look like Bristow or Jockey Wilson and some are woman too!! Here are the most common rules and board in the world. Theres various rules and different dart boards around the world. But these are the most common rules and the board. The board is numbered 1-20 and has an even number with an odd number beside each one. For example the 1 is beside the 5 and the 5 beside the 12 etc. Theres also a bulls eye worth 50 points in the middle surronded by a smaller circle worth 25 points. The board is black back ground and each number is either creme or black. The trebles and doubles with in each number set will be either red or green. Each player also has three darts. I mentioned doubles and trebles. Simply each time you hit the double or a treble in each number section you double or triple the number of points. So a treble 20 is 60 points and a double 18 would be 36 points. To start with both players throw a dart near the bulls eye and who ever is the closest gets to start. The game begins with each player on 501 points and the first to get to zero is the winner. Since players have three darts the most they can score on one turn is 180. As three treble 20's is 180. To finsh a player must hit a double with their last dart and they must hit the exact score. For example if they have 36 points left they must hit double 18. If they hit a 20 they r bust and go back to 18 on their next turn. A player is allowed to finish by hitting a bulls eye if they have 50 points left as the bulls eye is also a double. There are a few more rules for this version of darts. But they aint really important. So this is mostly all you need to know.

- 28/08/02 Thanks for reminding us of the rules, but what do you actually think of the game? Welcome to Dooyoo! |

- 28/08/02 Inaccurate in places I'm afraid - at the bottom of the board you've got:
17
3
19
7
and then 2 even numbers with
16
8 after them - not quite odd/even/odd/even.
I love darts. Boon ;¬) |
