Dominoes is a wonderfully simple game to play and it is very good for teaching basic number work to children as well as planning a strategy, there are also a number of ways that you can play depending on, in the case of children their ability and knowledge of numbers. Basically the game consists of a number of black tiles which are divided in half and each half will have a number value on it which is usually depicted by white spots although some of the versions for younger players use pictures and the actual number. The values on each half range from zero up to six and every combination of the two values is included once, so one piece has double six while ... Read the complete review

I love dominoes - there you are I've admitted it!!! And I'm only 35!!! Now I started playing dominoes with my mum and dad - you know in the good old days when families sat round a table and played Monopoly and Cluedo if you had loads of time or a game of cards or dominoes if you couldn't afford fancy board games. This is a tradition which seems to have been lost somewhere down the line of computer games except at times such as Christmas. I feel this is a great shame but with people working different hours and days and pressures of other commitments I realise it's sometimes unavoidably difficult to get the whole family together at once the way we used ... Dominoes is one of those games that is so simple yet it seems to have stood the test of time! I played it when I was little, my dad played it when he was little and his dad played it when he was little too. I'm sure generations have enjoyed this game in one way or another. Dominoes are made up of small rectangular shapes which are divided into two. On each side is a number of spots. To start the game, the players choose seven dominoes and the player with the double six has to lay. The players take it in turns to match a domino to the number that has been laid. If you don't have one to match then you can forfeit your turn and choose another. The winner is the ... Read the complete review

Dominoes is a traditional game which you probably would have heard about from your grandparents, aunts, uncles or some elderly person. I learnt this game from my aunt who said that my grandfather was an expert in this, and he would always win the games played with them. I never owned a box of dominoes, but the first one that I played with was a black tiled set with white dots. A set of dominos comes with 28 tiles. To make the game easier to play now there are picture domino sets for kids. My friends and I really enjoyed the game and played as long as we were allowed to. It was great fun, and we didn't want to stop. I still remember how a friend ... Read the complete review

Dominoes I was playing dominoes with the kids the other day and was thinking about all the traditional games we still play. The domino I was playing was not a spotty one but a picture set. I do have a traditional set somewhere at home (it was my granddads) not played for ages so thought I would tell you all I know about dominoes. First a history lesson Dominoes is a game first recorded as being played in china in the 14th century eventually crossed countries and seas from France to Britain in the 18C. The word Domino is French it means a black and white hood that is worn By Christian priests in the winter. It is ... Read the complete review
