Advantages: The popper

Disadvantages: Can go on for a while

I absolutely love this game despite the simplicity of it and will happily spend hours and hours going around the board without getting bored!

The game is almost exactly like Ludo except that the board is made of plastic with lots of holes which the counters fit into. In the middle of the board is a dome shaped 'popper' which consists of the dice. You need at least two players to play but no more than four can participate at one time. You choose a colour which is either red, green, blue or yellow and you will be given four counters. The aim of the game is to work your way around the board and get all four counters back 'home' before the other players do. It sounds simple but you can be knocked off by other players which means you need to go back to the start.

This game is so simple but so much fun. It encourages basic counting skills for young children and because the counters are quite small it can help with their fine motor skills too.

The game is very straightforward and it's very exciting when you have your last counter to get home. It can be very frustrating if you are so near your home and you get knocked off because you end up having to start that counter from the start again.

The best thing about the game is the dice 'popper' in the middle of the board. When it's pressed it makes a satisfying sound and flips the dice over. I remember spending hours pressing it over and over again until it drove my mum mad. It is just such a compelling thing to do and if you want to annoy someone then this really is the game to buy! The other thing about the 'popper' is the fact that you can take your anger out on it at the end of the game if you don't win!

The only critism of this game is that the 'popper' can be quite hard to press so younger children may not manage it very well. I remember putting all of my upper body weight into it when I was little to try and get it to 'pop'.

I would definitely recommend this game over Ludo as there is so much more to it.

Summary: A great game!

Its amazing how high and how far the counters can be thrown when family members lose their temper with the game!
