Advantages: Lots to do
Disadvantages: Linear, no scope for planning
As the title suggests, this game is about life, and as such, you are out to do various real-life things like go to University, get married e.t.c. You choose a career, get a salary (which you collect each turn). You can collect status symbols like villas and art collections, buy life insurance, whatever.
At first, you may think this sounds like Monopoly with added depth, and in a sense it is. However whenever I play it I feel like I am being lead by the nose. Y'see, rather than going round and round the board until someone goes bankrupt, you follow a linear path through the game, which makes each session seem just like the last. I also don't feel in control, and planning strategies is impossible. Winning is largely down to luck which I don't like.
Undoubtedly this is a great family game, but if you are looking for an engrossing battle of wits and tactics, look elsewhere.
