Excellent board game
Member Name: MattJames
Advantages: Fun for the family, unique game, very close to tv show
Disadvantages: Overcomplex rules, a bit fiddly
This game retails at around £10 from most good toy stores in the UK. And it will be one of the more fun £10 you will ever spend.
Fans of the gameshow will love this board game, as you play through all the rounds of the hit show. Starting off with 20 balls (rather than the 100 in the main game - would be impractical) and 5 killer balls as well as your split and steal balls for later on. These are customisable with many prize values for the game, so you can be kind or stringent. Once you put them in the ball machine you don't know what ball's which so this can be done with anyone playing
The first round 4 people are given four balls all of different values and/or killers. Killers are bad for the last round of the game as they take 90% off your total. You all open your front two showing people your values. Only you see your back two, and you can lie which values these are. That is the main point of the game, as you have to keep the highest values in the game. However, if you have low values or killers, you'll want to tell people you've got different values. After some debate, the person who people think have the lowest values and most killers leaves the game. However, this may not always be correct.
A second round then ensues following the same format.
Then the third round between two people sees 11 balls left in the game after another killer is added. The aim is to get rid of these by binning them. You bin 6 random balls and keep 5. Your prize total at the end is made up of the 5 balls. If there is a killer, the prize value is "tenthed."
Then each player has to make a secret decision to split or steal the money. Both split - both share the win, one split one steal - the stealer wins, both steal - both lose.
The game is supremely fun, and a very original concept. However, as its not for real money, you find people lie a lot more and steal a lot more then they would on the actual game show. However, very good game, very reccommended, even if the rules are a bit over the top
Summary: Must Buy!
