Blokus is an abstract strategy game for between 2 and 4 players. It comes in many forms - Travel, PC Versions, etc, but this is the original format, and my favourite. The board is made of white / grey plastic, and the pieces are very colourfull in red, yellow, blue and green. All very good quality. The rules are simplicity itself. Place any of your pieces on the board. There are only 2 conditions - first, it needs to fit on the board without overlapping any other piece, and it needs to be joined to one of your own pieces on the diagonal. Blokus is a very original exciting board game that everyone can play. I was hooked within minutes! The whole aim of the game is to put down as many pieces as possible (yes I know sounds easy! That's what I thought!) The pieces that are of a range of shapes and sizes must be put down diagonally to any of you other pieces that you have put down, this means a huge amount of strategy is needed to smart and outwit any of your other opponents. What I like about the game..... The game is not to long- I play games such as monopoly that can go on for hours but Blokus will go on for 30 mins (if that). Blokus, by The Green Board Game Company, is fantastic strategy game for all the family - the only trouble is, that it's addictive!
