Advantages: I have good memories of playing this as a child

Disadvantages: The game is now made really cheaply and crappily, easy to break, not as good as the 80s version

I was sitting really bored one day and was sick of the watching the tv and trying to find a way to avoid the pile of ironing i had to do when i thought of the idea of getting a few board games to play. I got my boyfriend to go with me to Argos where we browsed through the catalogue.

I spotted the game Guess Who and got all excited as i remember playing this when i was a kid and used to absolutely love it. Guess Who is the flip and face game where you ask the other player questions and try to guess your opponents card by the process of elimination. It was on offer and you could buy two different games for £15. I thought this was quite a good deal as the seperate price was £9.99.

I bought the game and brought it home. When i took it out of the bag, i noticed that the box was a lot smaller than i used to remember. The packaging is different of that above that Dooyoo have displayed. The packaging now shows a girl and a boy sitting playing the game with a yellow background. The words "Guess Who?" are above them in red.

The packaging is bright and eyecatching but i prefer the 80s style retro packaging. When i took it out of the box and set it up, i couldnt believe how different it was to the 80s version. The board was really thin cheap plastic and i was scared to touch it in case it snapped in half. The picture holders that i clicked into the board where even worse, really flimsy cheap looking plastic.

I remember that the picture cards used to be large and sturdy made of thick cardboard. The new picture cards are so thin they remind me of paper and cant see this game lasting with kids. The new version is completely rubbish and is nothing like the way it was made in the 80s.

The manufacturers are obviously making cutbacks and have used the cheapest crappiest materials possible in this game. I was really disappointed as i used to love this game and the makers have completely ruined it. When i slot the picture cards into the holders, they are constantly falling out and wont stay in place, its so annoying.

I feel like ive been completely ripped off buying this game and all it is fit for is the bin. Its disappointing that most things these days are never how you remember them when you were younger. Companies are now taking shortcuts and using cheaper supplies. Things in the past were built to last and nowadays companys dont seem to care.

Dont waste your money on this rubbish!

Summary: Dont bother with it
