Advantages: Easy for younger children to play

Disadvantages: none

Guess who? is a game for two players (or even teams if a player is too young to understand the rules), and is made by MB games.

Each player gets a board (either blue or red) with 24 pictures of faces on it. The pictures can be either stood up or laid flat , you start the game with all faces stood up. You then pick a picture of one of the faces and put it on your board without showing the other player. Starting with the youngest player, players take turns asking questions about the person the other player holds. Questions are simple, such as :- is your person male, has your person got a moustach, does your person have blue eyes etc. You then knock down people depending on the answer. In the end you should have one person left standing, and that should be the person that the other player picked.

There is a place on each board to add up the scores.

On the box it states that it is for players aged 6 and over, but after a few games my five year old soon got the hang of it, unfortunately I can’t say the same for my mother-in-law who managed to get totally confused as to whether to knock down people or leave them up! Maybe we will try her again when she is sober!

It has quickly become a firm favourite in our house, and is played almost daily.

Cheaper versions can be bought, but I don’t know about the quality of the boards.

Rather worryingly I spent time in a pub over Christmas playing 'Guess Who', without the board - we remembered so many of the characters. My cousin admitted to having paired them up into likely couples (although there were far more men than women)
