When we got married we were bought some Argos vouchers and had no idea what to spend them on. We went to take a look and we found Cranium WOW and thought that it would be a great idea as it is something fun we can play with all of our family and friends. IT was £30 although I think you can get it for about £25 if you look around and it was totally worth every penny as it is the funniest game ever and here is why.

Cranium became a fast selling game and a firm family favourite, now they have brought out this second version which is called Cranium wow and it comes in a black box with WOW all over it and also the for adults sign. It is more adult than the original cranium version but it is not as the title suggests very rude which is what we panicked about when we thought it might be rude but it's not at all.

In the box you get your Cranium board which you play on, a dice with all the Cranium colours on, some pads of paper and pencils, 4 boxes of cards and your playing pieces which are cool little people and you have to put hats on them. It is very neatly packed so looks nice.

So you pop your playing board down which shows you a path from start to end and different colours to move to which correspond to those on the dice. So put you playing pieces on the board in the start position and I will beg9in to tell you what all of the cards are about. There are 4 categories and when you land on a colour you have to answer a card of that colour. You get a person from another team to read it out to you as we have found people cheat if you don't do this. Here are what you may be expected to do.

Word Worm:
This is a good category to get and it will be questions and tasks to do with words as you could probably guess. I will give you an example of one we had on Saturday night which was to each take a turn on the team to spell the word Masquerade but backwards. Now seems like an easy task but when the timer is going and you stump yourself it takes you a while to get it.

Then you will have questions such as spell this word in your first attempt and then they are really awkward words to spell. There are also my favourites which are anagrams and they will give you a clue and you must work out what the word (s) is. This is probably my least favourite category because I am rubbish at spelling and rely on spell check on the computer so I am not very good at these.

Data Head
This is my third favourite in the game and it really is a mind killer this category. As you can imagine a lot of it is to do with data and facts so a lot of them are questions that are asked and you have multiple choice answers. Now although they are multiple choice a lot of them are really obscure questions that you would never even think to look up the answer to so it is really hard.

Although I think this is probably one of the hardest categories, what makes it good is that you truly have to pull together as a team to get the right answer which is why I enjoy answering these questions. Plus you get to find out some pretty interesting things.

Creative Cat
This is my second favourite and although I am rubbish with everything that comes out of this category it is so much fun. You have to use the play dough or the sketch pads for this category and you do get some strange things. I love making things out of play dough although quite how you do a accordion in the time given I don't know.

Then you get the drawing ones which could be quite straight forward drawings or you get sensosketch which is where you have to draw with your eyes closed. I did once draw over my mother in laws table though (sorry for that!) so do be careful. This category along with the next one is the funnier of the four and you will have fun doing them.

Star Performer
This is my favourite out of all of them as I it is the one that gets you on your feet and absolute hysterics ensues. I love the humming questions which gives you a song title and you have to hum it to your group which is funny. Our friend (who sings in a band) couldn't even do it which was hilarious and we had fun taking the mick out of him for the rest of the night because of it.

You then get charade type questions which give the team a hint and then off you go. You can play charades but there is not a lot of time as you are against the timer sp people start getting frantic. Then you have questions where you have to act like a famous person without using names or places which is sooo hard!! Funny though to watch people try.


So you answer the questions ad if you get it right you move spaces and the aim of the game is to reach the cranium in the middle of the board and there you have to answer one of each category and then you win. A game can last around 2 hours if people are getting them wrong but it is so fun you wont even notice the time flying by. You can get into four teams and have as many people as you like on one team which is great.

In conclusion Cranium has always been one of my favourite games so it nice to see a new version being brought out which has a little bit harder questions but they are all brand new. I have played our game about 5 times in 6 months which is good and we will be getting it out for Christmas. I would recommend it to anybody who doesn't mind looking a bit silly and enjoys having a good laugh as it is brilliant.
