Advantages: Quick and fun

Disadvantages: Blocks easily lost

Jenga is a quick fun game suitable for all ages. You start by piling the wooden blocks up in layers of three, then take turns to remove one block from the tower and replace it on the top layer without knocking the tower over. The one who eventually knocks the tower over loses and you start again!

If you want to make it harder you can play the rule where you must remove the first block you touch. This leads to amusement when you try and move a block that ends up being a bit stuck and you have to carefully ease it out without knocking the tower down.

It is a good game for children to improve their motor skills, as well as adults who enjoy the challenge of trying to out move their opponents. For a bit of added interest you can write questions or dares on each block that must be accomplished when the block is removed.

The game comes with a plastic stand that makes it easier to stack the blocks up but this is rather flimsy and easily broken. You have to be very careful to stack all the blocks back in the box, and with children this invariably doesn't happen. So the blocks end up stuffed in so they don't all fit and they get lost. You can still play the game with a few lost blocks, although the tower is not as high.

Summary: Needs a steady hand
