Disadvantages: NEED PLENTY OF ROOM FOR PLAYING.

This game is totally simplistic. But it is it's simplicity that makes it the ultimate fun and exciting game to enjoy as a family. I have played this game on numerous occasions. I would certainly say that as far as this game is concerned the more players involved the more fun this game becomes.

When you open the large tin box, which from the outside looks like a typical tin of biscuits. I was intrigued how the contents, which consisted of over fifty wooden oblong shaped pieces could allow for such a fun game. My friends had raved over it's fun factor. Looking down at these wooden pieces, I was hardly filled with joy. They did nothing to excite me. No colour, no variation in shape. But as I was about to learn, it is the simplistic design and rules that allows the game to be enjoyed by anyone, both young and old.

The idea of this game is to build a tower before the game commences. Then each person takes it in turns to remove a block without making the tower loose balance and collapse. When you have removed the block, you then have to safely place the block on top of the tower. Obviosly, as the game progresses, the blocks become much more difficult to negotiate out of their spaces. The tower becomes more and more unstable and in turn the excitement can become quite electric.

The rules of the game can be altered pending on who is playing. I often try and allow the children some poetic licence when playing. This game can be very tricky and in order to build their confidence I allow them a degree of leniance when concerning the rules.

Again if playing at a party with adults, I have been known to incorporate the shot drinking rule. This is when the person who is responsible for toppling the tower has to knock back a shot. This creates a fun and intresting alternative to this game.

What is so good about this game, is that the blocks are really hard wearing and durable. They are well able to cope with the constant toppling over. What I would advise, is that you store the blocks in the tin immediately after playing. I have learnt this to my cost as I have lost a few blocks by not caring for the game properley.

This game is worth storing in the boot of the car. It can become a great relief from boredom on a camping holiday or a lifeless bbq. Worth introducing this game to get a little atmosphere.

I have paid approx £11 for this Jenga game in the past. Particularly when this game was first introduced and very popular. However, I have also bought an alternative game which is exactly the same apart from the name. This set is available in Asda and I paid only £2.50 for the set. I have since played with this set and can happily report that it is just as effective.

Before playing this game, I would suggest that you make sure you have a flat and level surface. Also plenty of room is required for people to move around freely, in order to loosen the blocks. I cannot stress enough how fun this game can be. I have laughed so hard when playing in the past. It really adds atmosphere and fun to any party.

So if you want a handy game to keep in times of emergency. When the party is flat or your bored in a rain soaked field in your caravan then this is the game for you. This game has such a unique quality in that it is equally enjoyed by both children and adults.

Summary: A GREAT ENTERTAINING AND FUN GAME.
