I bought this game because my Daughter has become an avid Disney Princess fan at the tender age of 2.
Visually the game is very appealing due to the bright colours and the fact that it contains Cinderlla's glass slipper. The slipper itself slots into place on the cushion and underneath the cushion there is an on/off switch.
The game board is of a circular shape and has several spaces on it. The spaces indicate whether you should pick up a specific card or press the glass slipper (only if you land on the Fairy Godmother). The cards themselves indicate the rags to riches theme. For example one card has a picture of Cinderella in her rags but when turned over shows Cinderella in her ball gown.
The players pieces are all shaped as Cinderella but have four different colours - blue, pink, yellow and green. To play you need to roll the dice and move the correct number of squares and then do what the space tells you to.
If you land on the Fairy Godmother you can press the slipper. If the bell sounds then you cannot turn over any of your unturned cards, however if the magic wand sounds then you can choose any of your unturned cards to turn to the 'riches side.'
One thing to mention is that if you already have a Cinderella's dress card and you land on this square again - you cannot pick another card.
The winner is the person that has one of every card facing the riches way! You are then the chosen Cinderella that can go to the ball!
It is a lovely game and my Daughter has managed to play it to the end a few times.
If you have read any of my other reviews then you will know that my daughter is a massive Disney Princess fan so this game was an obvious choice for her.
I am so glad that we purchased it as it is such a nice game and has proved very popular.
There are 4 Cinderellas each one represents a different colour.
The aim of the game is to turn over all of your cards so that Cinderella turns from rags to riches the first to do this is the winner. You move along the board trying to land on one the of the cards that you are yet to turn over. If you land on any of the fairy godmother spaces then you get the press the glass slipper which is situated in the middle of the round board. If it twinkles and plays music then you get to turn over a card which you need.
This board game is a lovely quick and easy game. It is a great way to spend a little time as a family without getting frustrated with the children as this is so easy for little ones to understand.
I would recommend this game to anyone who has a Princess fan and to anyone whjo has a child who enjoys board games.
I was worried for the price that this game would be cheaply made, however it is not. Infact it is well made and the glass slipper does not appear easily broken.
Direct experience with this product having bought it for one small princess who dearly loves Cinderella.
The board is circular and annotated in accordance with most board games. There are 4 Cinderellas - one for each player - they are colour coded at the skirt hem by blue, yellow, red, green, for me the blue and the green were easily confused - but this could be just my eyes.
The cushion with the magic slipper sits in the middle of the board. There are also cards depicting, Cinderella, the Carriage, the Horses, etc (there are 5 in total) - the cards on one side depict pre-transformation, the other side post Fairy Godmother transformation.
The idea is as you progress round the board you land on the appropriate squares that enable you to collect the pre-transformation cards, by landing on the fairy godmother cards this enables you to press the glass slipper - if it sparkles and lights up then you can turn your card over and transform them ready for the ball, if the shoes makes the sound of the clock striking 12 then you cannot turn your card.
Play continues until the first person obtains five cards and is able to transform them all ready for the ball.
Very playable and it isn't over quickly - but not too long, so it enables play to be established without children becoming disinterested.
We bought this game from Toys R Us as a Christmas Present for my five year old daughter. It was on special offer, buy one game and get another half price, so we also bought the magic mirror game at an approximate cost of £16.
It is a fairly simple game, that shouldn't be too difficult for even the youngest of players, the box states 4+ years bit I would say that maybe even a three year old could play it with a little bit of help.
The idea of the game is to collect all the cards to be the first to go the the ball. There is a round board with different spaces on which relate to each of the five cards, you roll the dice and move your Cinderella character onto a space, if you don't have that card you collect it. If you land on fairy godmother you get to press the glass slipper. If it twinkles and rings you get to turn the card over and if it chimes you don't.
You need to collect all five cards and get them all turned over and then you are the winner.
I'm not a great fan of some board games as they can be too long and complicated for little ones, but all three of us (dad included) really enjoy this game as its not too long, and doesn't take too much setting up, and we play it quite often.
The glass slipper does require one AA battery, which we just take out of our digital camera, as they are rechargeable. You just have to unscrew the compartment underneath, so only takes a couple of seconds.
Highly recommend for good family fun - although there has been the occasional tears if a certain five year old doesn't win!!! Such a bad loser, I think she gets that from her father, haha.
Make your dreams come true and become the first Cinderella to go to the ball in this Magic Slipper Board Game! The fairy godmonther and twinkling musical slipper will help you along the way
