Advantages: Suitable for all Ages
Disadvantages: None
We bought this game from Toys R Us as a Christmas Present for my five year old daughter. It was on special offer, buy one game and get another half price, so we also bought the magic mirror game at an approximate cost of £16.
It is a fairly simple game, that shouldn't be too difficult for even the youngest of players, the box states 4+ years bit I would say that maybe even a three year old could play it with a little bit of help.
The idea of the game is to collect all the cards to be the first to go the the ball. There is a round board with different spaces on which relate to each of the five cards, you roll the dice and move your Cinderella character onto a space, if you don't have that card you collect it. If you land on fairy godmother you get to press the glass slipper. If it twinkles and rings you get to turn the card over and if it chimes you don't.
You need to collect all five cards and get them all turned over and then you are the winner.
I'm not a great fan of some board games as they can be too long and complicated for little ones, but all three of us (dad included) really enjoy this game as its not too long, and doesn't take too much setting up, and we play it quite often.
The glass slipper does require one AA battery, which we just take out of our digital camera, as they are rechargeable. You just have to unscrew the compartment underneath, so only takes a couple of seconds.
Highly recommend for good family fun - although there has been the occasional tears if a certain five year old doesn't win!!! Such a bad loser, I think she gets that from her father, haha.
Summary: Really pleased with this simple little game
