Kid Connection 4 in a Row
Advantages: Fun and makes my children happy
Disadvantages: There are no disadvantages
WHAT IS IT?
A strategy game where you take it in turns to drop a coloured counter into a plastic frame and the first person to get 4 in a row in any direction is the winner.
HOW DO YOU PLAY?
You fit the board with holes in it that has been used as a lid to keep the counters in the base into the 2 slots so it is in upright position. Decide who is going to be red and who is going to be yellow and then split the counters. Take it in turns to drop the counters in, watching where your opponent goes and try to block them from getting 4 in a row as well as trying to make your own row.
The game is over when one of you gets 4 in a row or it will be classed as a draw if no one does it before all the counters are used up.
WHAT I THINK
This is a good game to play and this one is very sturdy and well made. I only paid £5 for it but it is one of the board games my daughters play with the most and we play as a family too because it's fun for adults as well as children. You need to have a bit of ability to have a chance of winning but when you are playing with children it is all about the fun of the game instead of winning.
The counters are all the same size and they all fall through smoothly and fast into the gaps. When someone gets 4 in a row or if the board gets filled and there's no winner you just lift it up and let the counters spill into the base of the game. This keeps them all together and stops you losing them because the board slides across the base when you've finished playing and makes it into a sealed box.
WHAT MY DAUGHTERS THINK
My daughters have loved 4 In A Row from the very first day I brought it home and they play every weekend and at nighttime too. They only play for a few games at a time and this isn't a toy that they play for a long time but it is very quick and easy to set up so it's ideal. I like to listen to how excited and happy they are when they play 4 in a row, they laugh loudly and have fun and that is nice to hear.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
