Advantages: Fun! Good for concentration and listening. Simple concept for children to grasp

Disadvantages: None

I got this for my eldest son when he was 2 years old (now 3) and he really enjoyed it straight away. I remember having something similar to this when I was young and I really enjoyed it at the time so I was hoping it would be good fun for us both to play and I was not disappointed.

It's quite a simple game so an easy way to introduce children into sitting and playing this kind of game, or board game. The concept is very simple, just to listen to the sounds and then put your counter onto the picture of whatever sound you heard.

I felt for the price this was such a good item, especially as I got it reduced on Amazon for under 5 pounds! Although it is currently not available on Amazon, but the newer version of Animal Soundtracks is out now.

This game is something quite different than all the every day toys you come across. It encourages the child to concentrate and listen to the sound, which I think is quite a good skill and important as they get older. It has a nice variety of different sounds included so should be something to appeal to all children, my son was very enthusiastic about the fire engine and helicopter. It also has animals and more difficult to recognise sounds like skipping and bouncing a ball.

The game includes 4 sets of differently coloured small counters. So just need to be careful with little ones not to lose them as they only give the right amount you need for each board, without any extras and of course be careful they don't go into young children's mouths as they could be a choking hazard. I think for this reason the game is labelled as 3 years + but my son was fine at 2.5

The only other thing to note is that you will need a cd player available to play this game, or a laptop with a cd drive would do fine.

Very pleased with this and would recommend, and would buy others like this such as the animal soundtracks game.

I have adapted this from my review on Amazon under the name M. Marikar

Summary: A fun and different game, which is also educational
