Oh dear... it is such a shame that so many people have not had the enjoyment of playing a real game of Mah Jongg and instead are only familiar with the pc version of matching the tiles. Mah Jongg is an ages old traditional game...similar in some ways to certain card games but instead of cards you play with tiles. Some of the more expensive sets of tiles are exquisite in their beauty. The depiction of the character, bamboo, wheel, four wind and dragon tiles is superb and worth looking at even if you never learn how to play the game. Before playing you set out the tiles into walls .. then each player takes a certain number of tiles and play ... Read the complete review

Mah Johng is not a game of mathcing tiles played on a computer. Despite what various computer programmers might call there games. Mah Johng is instead an interesting Japanese game (complete with 'funny symbols', or Kanji). Much like Gin Rummy and other such games, play consists of drawing froma common pile and collecting sets (either runs of suited tiles or sets of three or four tiles the same). There are also bonus tiles for the seasons and other such chrome. Mah Johng is played with tiles about 1/8" thick and slightly smaller than a match box in width and height. The central pool of tiles is a 4 sided wall, constructed before play ... Read the complete review

Proper Mah Jong has got to be my favourite game of all time. We are discussing the proper strategy game with winds, pungs, kongs and chows here. We are not discussing the games that are called Mah Jong by various software writers that involve pairing pieces from a wall. Mah Jong bears some resemblence to rummy (very slight I may add). The princple is to collect tiles in sets before someone else goes Mah Jong. The tiles are drawn from a wall which is built at the start of each round and discarded into the middle. The complexity of the game comes from the special hands, wind of the round etc. all which take a while to get used to. This is a complex game ... Read the complete review

The game's alright but i haven't got the faintest what the title means. Mah Jongg on the playstation is a one-player version of an ancient Chinese game. The creator is Yaroze and it's a puzzler type game. The idea of the game is to clear away all of the rectangular playing tiles which are displayed on screen. To accomplish this you must match up pairs of tiles that look the same. Once you've matched them up they are removed from play. The difficulty lies in the fact that only tiles from the outside of the board or tiles that sit on an elevated level can be selected for pairing. Each tile has a symbol on it and some of the chinese element ... Read the complete review

You probably haven’t even heard of this game or played it if you had you’ll know why some many other people haven’t played it. The reason is very simple it is the most boring game to grace earth. It is some Chinese tradition I think, that’s why all the symbols are so weird. The idea is to match these little cards together and eventually there aren’t any left and you have completed it! This isn’t my idea of fun, to do it you have to spend literally hours and when you have it isn’t exactly the most for filling thing you could have done in the time. If you don’t believe how boring it is go to a download site such as ... Read the complete review
