monopoly is one of the ultimate classic board games, based upon the streets and businesses in the city of london. Taking a playing piece (i like to be the iron or the dog) you move around the board buying properties, paying rent, and taking chance and community chest cards.
collecting colour parties allows you to make more money by building hotels and houses which will earn you even more rent, and owning all of a colour party doubles the rent. and you do all of this whilst trying to avoid going to jail!
Its tycoon against tycoon as you try to bankrupt the other players to prove that you are top dog. A fantastic family game, it does take a long time to play, so is best suited to those rainy weekend afternoons.
unlike so many other games there is alot of skill involved, and is one of those games that takes alot to mastery, such as when to buy, mortgaging, trading, , meaning you dont get bored of it easy!

Summary: a great game if you have the time
