The game Monopoly is a brilliant classic board game and has been recreated in so many different forms to allow its continue popularity amongst the young and old.
The game play is the same in all versions.
The idea of the game to purchase sets of property, build houses and hotels on them, collect as much rent as you can and win the game by making everyone else bankrupt.

There are six playing pieces, community chest and chance cards, plastic houses and hotels, property cards and of course the money.
You throw the dice to move round the board landing on property, which you can buy. When you a complete set of the same colour, you can then build property. First houses and then once you have four houses on each set you can exchange them for hotels.
When other people land on your property, they pay you rent, which increases when you have houses or hotels on them.
The board game has been reproduced in many countries thoughout the world and also in many different themes, such as Disney, Simpsons, Scooby Doo, Football teams and towns to name just a few.
It seems each year a new version is created to keep up the interest. This years one including a credit card machine to keep up with the times.
Its a great traditional family game perfect for wet sunday afternoons. Any age can play.
The game is available from many outlets with the price ranging from £10 for the basic original to £25 for the new versions
