Monopoly one of the greatest board games ever created.

There is hardly a home in the country that doesn't have a version of this game. In our house we have two, the standard version and the Here and Now version.

The idea really is simple. You travel around the board by shaking a dice, you move your counter around the board and land on various squares. these squares may take the form of a Street, a utility, a railway station, or a square where you have to perform an action - either picking up a card or the infamous "Go to Jail".

The game itself is actually quite simple but then the tactics of the players kick in. Depending on who you play with you could end up with a ruthless tycoon who wants to take over the whole board or someone who will just take a couple of properties and slowly build them up ready for the kill (in my experience the latter are much more dangerous as you don't notice what they are doing until you land on their propert and find they have hotels and you don't have enough money!!

This game can take a few hours to play. the only time we really seem to get to play this now is on holiday - when we will often play for a bit - go to the pool and then come back and continue playing!!

If you like your games fast and furious then this probably isn't the game for you, but if you like to use your head then this is ideal.
