Monopoly is to most people the most memorable game, from what I remember everyone was playing it. I think the old style monopoly was the best one, they have brought out all these new ones and it doesn't really come close to this one, to me anyway.

A quick overview if some are unaware:

There are up to 11 players and one is the banker whose job is to control the money. You all start with the same amount of money and as you go around the board you buy and sell properties, making deals and losing/gaining money as you go through.
In the game you buy properties and if you were good at the game and got a set of properties you could put on houses and hotels. When you pass go you collect £200 etc.
Over the board there are chances and community chests, these can be either good or bad, it is all completely random.
The winner is the one who ends with the most amount of money and properties.

The problem is, thoughout the years the rules have become twisted so when you play with other people new rules are brought in as some people play other ways to you, for example - do not start buying until round the board once etc.

To me, I loved monopoly as a child and many do agree but I believe that some people either love it or hate it depending on if you won or lost, we all know kids love winning.

This game can last for hours on end and many times I have often had to leave the game and resume in the morning, this is definately a game I would play with my children. Me and my best friend played it about 10 times last year but I lost all the money somehow.

Although the rules are set in place, people have been known to be great cheaters at monopoly, I have cheated once or twice also because I was a sore loser when I was a kid and I am not proud of that! Personally if you have not played, I think you should.

Summary: This is a game most people played in their childhoods and will be remembered for some time
