Monopoly is one of the most popular games of all time. It has new been reproduced in most countries of the word and is still a very successful product.

The aim of the game is to bankrupt your opponants by buying up the streets of London. (Over recent years Hasbro has released many other city versions and you can even have your own game built with anything on the squares.)

You play with a metal figurine of either a boot, top hat, dog etc. (my favourite was always the boot) The 1st time round the board you can't buy anything but once you pass go the 1st time you can. There are various other squares on the playing board including community chest and chance (where you pick up a card to learn your fate), jail and a go to jail squre(where you er go to jail).

Each time you land on a property you have bought you can build a house, once you've built 4 houses you can swap it for a hotel (this earns you more money if an opponant lands on you.)

I really like this game but it can cause massive arguments amongst children, beware. Our Euston Road has never been the same since me and my sister fought over it and ripped the property card in half!!!

Summary: great game

Costs £100 to personalise it, though - an interesting Xmas present idea, I suppose. (And it's only early June ... )
