Advantages: A great traditional board game

Disadvantages: Can be boring with less than three people playing

Monopoly is one of those traditional board games that every family should own, as every now and again the whole play together.

The main aim of the game is one of British tradition, gain as most property as you can without going bankrupt, and bankrupt your fellow players. The traditional way of playing the game in on board and in the real world, rather than in on a computer, which has become the norm. Included within the box, is the game board, the monopoly money, houses and hotels, game cards and the player statues. Interestingly the reason why the statues that are used within the game are so odd and random is that the person that created the game forgot the statutes and used the items that were part of his wife's bracelet.

As we all know the game is played by the rolling of two dices and moving your statue that many spaces. While the game is played, one of the players has to also take the role of the banker that sorts out the money.

Although Monopoly is one of the great traditional games that is played by both old and young, I found myself become less and less interested in playing the game, with one of the reason being the amount of time that it takes to setup the game to play. Whereas on the computer edition of the game, it is a matter of section and a person can be playing the game and there is not tidying away of all the fiddly pieces.

Another problem with the game that when one plays it, for the game to be any fun the game has to be played by more than two people. Although this is not essential, as two or more people are needed to play the game. If there is not more than two, if seems less fun to play, as there is less banter and the game can seem to on forever without an end, where as if three or more play, is it more entertaining.

Therefore I would recommend the game, but only if there is a number of people that want to play the game, as otherwise if there is just a small number of people that want to play the game then it become dull and boring. Another problem that has arisen for the traditional board game format of Monopoly is the rise of the virtual format of the game, as there is less hassle playing the game and if there is no one else to play the game then a person can play the game alone. Although when I have tried the virtual version of the game, it lacks something that when playing the board game gives person; as it takes person back to their childhood.

Summary: A great traditional game than any person can play
