Advantages: Fun, great to play with family, Addictive

Disadvantages: Can go on for a very long time!

Monopoly is a board game made by Hasbro.

This board game challenges you to compete against other players to have the most properties and Monopolies!

You can play the game with just two players but it really gets good when you are playing with four or more as the trade system is far better and the auctions you can do have far more meaning!

The game board consists of several property squares of different colours and values, it is also dotted with Chance and Community Chest cards which can either reward you with monetary bonuses or take it off you! You have two die and you must roll them to determine which square you go to, if you land on a property square you have the option to buy it. Once yours you will be able to collect rent from anyone who lands on your square.

If you can collect a set of properties, 2-3 of the same coloured squares, you will then be able to collect double the rent and also build houses and hotels which are vital to winning the game as even a cheap property with only a basic rent of 4 can be worth 450 once a hotel is placed upon it (though it is costly to put up one of these hotels)!

This game can be really addictive and if you are playing with good players once you get into it you will be at it for hours! Even if you are not winning you will want to carry on because the game can turn in your favour so quickly! Although other times it can be frustrating and boring because people knock over all the houses and hotels with the dice, every go!

This game is good for playing at Christmas and family gatherings as it is fun with more people and can take up a long time as well as being one of the more fun board games.

Now there is a credit card version of the game which I don't think is as good as it stops you playing with all that fake Monopoly money, but can be good as it is far easier to put away when you are done.

The credit card version of the game can cost around £30 but for the classic version is available for £10.

Summary: A good board game.
