Well admit it everybody HAS played monoploy - come on you would be a very deprived person if you haven't. I mean you don't know what you are missing!
Okay so most of you already know what the game is about. For those of you that don't here goes: A brief explanation.
Monopoly is a property Trading Board Game. - a classic for the family - It was invented in America during the Great Depression. Starting from the "GO" space, you move around the board buying and selling properties, building houses and hotels as you go. When another player lands on your property they then pay you rent! Each time you pass "GO" you also collect £200.

How well you do depends on what moves and decisions you decide to make. IE: Investing in clever deals, buying houses. You can also do deals with your other players. If you become the wealthiset player with more money than anybody else owns - you win Monopoly!
When you land on a property that is not already owned by anybody else you may buy it from the Bank. If you do not choose to buy it, it is then auctioned off to the highest bidder. TIP: It is wise to build as many house's and hotels as you can. Therefore the more rent you can collect.

The object of the game is: To be the only player left in the game who is not bankrupt!

Equipment:
1 gameboard
10 playing tokens (and 2 spares)
28 Title Deed cards
16 Chance cards
16 Community Chest Cards
1 Pack of Monopoly money
32 Houses
12 Hotels
2 Dice

There are different "places" around the board where you might end up being sent to:- for example
Jail - You will be sent here if
-You land on the "Go to Jail" space or, You pick a community or Chance card which tells you to "Go to jail"
- You roll a double three times in a row on your turn. Your trun ends when you are sent to jail. If you are sent to Jail you may not collect £200
:( which happens a lot to me!
To get out of jail:
- Pay a fine of £50
- Purchase a "get out of jail card"

There are different "ways" and "methods" of playing the game. It all depends on how you use your tatics and go about the game.

Time Limit Game - which is suggested on the instructions -
Before starting the game you have to agree upon a certain time to finish the game. Ideal if you haven't time for the longer game, because speaking from experience it can drag on quite a bit.

You get to choose from:-

thimble
iron
horse
dog
boot
hat
ship
These act as your markers for when you are playing the game.

The game in gereral is good for the younger ones who are just learning how to deal with money in the "real world" because it gives them confidence in buying things. Not as if the younger generation are going to go out buying there own houese just yet thou! It is advertised as a 2-8 player game.
