From a selection of pieces (random noses, eyes etc) you then have to put the right pieces onto the face to match the card you have, all before the timer runs out and the face pops forwards and knocks your pieces off. At its best, this is an exciting game with that scary element of 'when will it pop'. This adds the element of fear to it, and it will make kids jump when the face pops. If you like this sort of thing, try Buckaroo too. At its worst, there are just too many pieces to lose. When you lose one or t...more

Premium Review Mr Pop: Touch his face - he likes it (236 words)

Mr Pop is one of those games from my childhood that holds mythical status, when really it's quite a simple albeit enjoyable game. You are presented with a plastic face, around the size of a child's head. It is bereft of features such as eyes, nose, mouth etc. You pick a card which shows you the face you have to make, and you then push the face back. From a selection of pieces (random noses, eyes etc) you then have to put the right pieces onto the face to match the card you have, all before the timer runs out and the face pops forwards and knocks your pieces off. Premium Review More than just a game! (378 words)

This was one my childhood favourites that my brother and I played time after time after time. I never tired of the whole thing popping up and I never made it through a game without 'jumping out of my skin'! The game has very basic rules which makes it ideal for young children. All you need to do is pick a card which has a 'face' on it, push the face back until your feel it 'click', turn the timer and make the face before the timer runs out. When your time is up, the face 'pops' up and sends all of the pieces flying across the room. The game is a lot of fun and helps young children to recognize copy what they see. It's also great for the fine motor ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mr Pop: pop goes his face (247 words)

In this game you have a plastic face with out any features, a lot of different pieces to put on your face, eyes, ears, mouthes, noses, glasseas, etc and 9 cards which are 3 different skill levels and coloured in 3 different colours. When you first unpack the game you have to stick the stickers onto the pieces to make the eyes and other bits as they are just plain plastic when you get them. Playing the game is very simple, you wind the timer up, push the face down untill it clicks into position and then let go of the timer and choose a card. You then have to copy the face on the card using the right pieces, ie blue or brown eyes and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review MR POP COMES OUT TO PLAY (694 words)

This is a game that my son got for his Christmas, we had it out last night so I thought why not write a review on it today. I have to say that I actually remember having this game when I was younger so for it to be on the market for all this time must mean its still a popular game. Mr pop is a game of skill and timing which for a child I think it is a very good thing. It is made by MB games who to me are a well known name in games so I feel that I can trust them. The front of the box shows a picture of the game being played by two children and tells you that it is for 1 or more players aged 4 years and over. The good thing about this game is that ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mr Pop: Don't Pop Off (1074 words)

Since it's rapidly approaching Christmas, I thought I would try and write some reviews on family games that most kids will love and adults may remember playing in their youth. I've started with Mr Pop as we have just rescued this one from our box of games in the attic to introduce to our son. This game has been around for many years and still has as much appeal today as it did when it first appeared in our shops. We have had this one in our family for around 12 years and my girls both had loads of fun playing this as they were growing up. It is made by MB Games which are also responsible for popular games such as Twister and Mousetrap as well as many others ...  Read the complete review
