Advantages: Great choice of spider colours!
Disadvantages: Limited for older children.
This game is from the excellent "Orchard Toys" 2001 Catalogue,. and is suitable for children aged between 3 and 6. We recently bought it for our daughter (who is 2 and a half) and she loves it already! The company who make this product have, according to the catalogue, been established for 30 years. They now have a vast range of imaginative games, jigsaws and creative activities. It is re-assuring to know that all their games have been extensively tested in playgroups, nursery and primary schools, as well as in the home. The company have also won awards for their standards of safety, durability and quality. Their new catalogue is very well laid out and has sections for Early Years, Fun Learning, Ready for French, First Puzzles, Floor Puzzles, Talkabout Puzzles, Challenging Puzzles, Tell Me A Story Puzzles, Children's Books, Games and Partybags. The coloured dots throughout the catalogue represent links with NAtional Curriculum Core Subjects. As a primary school teacher, I find this very useful and have just spent over £40 very easily, and could have spent much more as their products are of excellent quality. The idea behind "Incey Winsey Spider" is obviously based on the Nursery Rhyme of the same name. It helps children learn to count by moving a cute plastic spider (available in a choice of 4 delightful colours!) up and down the darinpipe before it starts to rain. Each player has their own gameboard (great for toddlers who can't share!) The toy is a Gold Award winner in the Good Toy Guide, so therefore it must be good! If you wish to order, the website is on: www.orchardtoys.com (suprise, suprise!) and you can request a catalogue by phoning: 0115 9373547 Happy puzzling!
